Edmondson Park South DCP 2012 November 2012
10. Streets adjacent to conservation areas and other open space / riparian corridors are to be designed to
facilitate pedestrian and cycle movements whilst allowing for incidental surveillance along the bushland /
open space fringe. Appropriate night lighting may be required in key locations to improve safety and
security. APZ requirements to be accommodated as relevant.
11. Street layout and design is to consider opportunities for the retention of existing significant trees within
the road reserve where possible. Trees may be incorporated with small, informal spaces that provide
opportunities for 'greening the street' and passive recreation and meeting points. A Tree Management
Plan will be prepared by a suitably qualified person with the relevant tree protection measures to
minimise any potential impacts on the trees to be retained.
