REPORT
I am pleased to provide a report summarizing building activities in Lambton Shores’
during the first half of 2012.
BUILDING PERMITS
Attached for Council’s information are 2 Schedules that provide information on Building
Permits activities in Lambton Shores for June, 2012, and along with comparatives from
previous years:
Schedule 1 is a summary of the permits issued in Lambton Shores’
for the month of June 2012, with a comparison to the same time
period in 2011.
Schedule 2 shows three Lambton Shores’ comparisons:
1. Statistics for the month of June, from 2002 – 2012;
2. Year to date (June) statistics from 2002 – 2012;
3. New housing starts by month for the years 2002 – 2012.
2012 has been an extremely busy year for the building department, as evidenced on the
attached charts.
31 permits were issued in June, bringing the total issued to date to 116, as compared to
100 the same time last year. Of these 31 permits, 8 were for new single family homes.
While the value of construction in June is slightly less than 2011 for the same month,
the overall value of construction to date is over double last year at this time. (The total
does include the 49 unit apartment complex on the “Rice” lands)
