That staff prepare a lease agreement based on the formula for<br />

leasing Municipal property that was approved by Council June 20,<br />

2011 to allow Michelle and William Peters to accommodate a<br />

retaining wall and parking at 7460 Dune Drive. Carried<br />

6.20 CL Report No. 53-2011 – Re: Addressing the Impact <strong>of</strong> Rental<br />

Accommodations on Residential Areas<br />

<strong>The</strong> negative impacts resulting from the use <strong>of</strong> some properties in <strong>Lambton</strong> <strong>Shores</strong> as<br />

“short term rentals” were reviewed in CL Report No.53-2011. <strong>The</strong> recommendations<br />

presented in this report were discussed and Councillor Bonesteel suggested that<br />

instead <strong>of</strong> an ad hoc committee being struck to review the options currently in place for<br />

regulating Short Term Rental Accommodations or Shared Residential Accommodations,<br />

a sub-committee <strong>of</strong> Council be formed to come up with a solution to this problem that<br />

could later be presented to the public.<br />

That the <strong>Municipality</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lambton</strong> <strong>Shores</strong>:<br />

a) Designates the investigation <strong>of</strong> the issues pertaining to Short<br />

Term Rental Accommodations to be a municipal priority;<br />

b) Approve the allocation <strong>of</strong> resources both staff and financial,<br />

to assist in the researching <strong>of</strong> the issues and the development<br />

options for solutions;<br />

c) Strike an Sub Committee <strong>of</strong> Council, comprised <strong>of</strong> Mayor<br />

Weber, Councillors Maguire, Bonesteel and Underwood with a<br />

mandate to review the options currently in place for regulating Short<br />

Term Rental Accommodations or Shared Residential<br />

Accommodations and make recommendations to Council on the<br />

need for such regulations and a preferred option or options to<br />

implement.<br />

6.5 PL Report No. 30-2011 – Re: Official Plan Amendment OP-02/2011 & Zoning<br />

By-law Amendment Application ZO-03/2011 for Mark & Lisa Bastiaansen –<br />

7722 Jericho Road<br />

PL Report No. 30-2011 provided an update for Council on the Official Plan and Zone<br />

amendments for property located at 7722 Jericho Road. At the public meeting held the<br />

4 th day <strong>of</strong> July, 2010, the applications were approved in principle. <strong>The</strong> required<br />

documentation has been prepared by Planner Patti Richardson, and was presented to<br />

Council for review and approval.
