may no longer need or that do not work. Outlined in this flyer are many business options and social service<br />
options where items can be disposed <strong>of</strong>, recycled, or donated.<br />

SOCIAL SERVICES<br />
Social Services greatly appreciate the donation <strong>of</strong> many bulk items as long as they are in useable condition.<br />

Accepts and removes clean furniture and appliances such as electric stoves, washers, and dryers as<br />
long as they are in working condition, no older than 10 years, and on the main level <strong>of</strong> the house. This<br />
excludes televisions, fridges, freezers and gas stoves. Mattresses and bed pillows are NOT accepted.<br />
Pick up <strong>of</strong> items can be arranged but pick up must be scheduled 3-4 weeks in advance.<br />

appliances. All items need to be in useable/sellable condition.<br />

Individuals can call in items they would like to donate and if Neighbour Link has an individual on their<br />
distribution list looking for that item they will accept the donation. If there is no one looking for that<br />
specific item they can not accept the donation in storage. <strong>The</strong>y do however store mattresses.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Great Refrigerator Roundup is a program designed to remove older, inefficient fridges<br />
and freezers from the electrical grid. Generally, these older secondary fridges and freezers,<br />
located in basements or garages, are plugged in but rarely used. <strong>The</strong>se older units typically<br />
use two to three times more electricity than new appliances.<br />
You can schedule pickup on-line by visiting the Ontario Power Authority's website at<br />
http://www.hydroone.com/MyHome/SaveEnergy/Pages/FridgeFreezerPickup.aspx. It<br />
will allow you to sign up for a pick up time on line or you may also schedule an<br />
appointment by calling the Ontario Power Authority's Customer Care Centre at<br />
