Students practice different grade-level critical thinking and reading skills. Learn to draw<br />

conclusions, form judgments, distinguish facts from opinions, and make predictions from<br />

Spanish for Preschoolers<br />

This is a unique learning experience designed for young children 3 to 5 years old,<br />

combining multiple resources to engage youngsters. Language immersion is emphasized,<br />

including music, movement, songs, puppets, and hands-on arts and crafts. This effective<br />

approach helps young children acquire a second language much the same way as they<br />

learned English.<br />

Creative Writing for Teens<br />

This class is for students who want to enrich and broaden their writing skills in a fun and<br />

creative environment. Analyzing literature, T.A.G (title, author,and genre), poetry, and<br />

musical lyrics, students will create and write a “fractured fairy tale” short story. During<br />

the class, students will develop an accomplished portfolio of their works to keep. Light<br />

homework, including writing, is expected.<br />

Community CPR for Kids (Ages 10 and Up)<br />

The ability to perform CPR properly is a lifesaving skill that everyone could benefit from<br />

learning. This American Red Cross course covers CPR and the Heimlich maneuver<br />

for adults, children and infants. Each participant will have his/her own mannequin on<br />

which to practice. Participants will receive a certification card which is valid for one year.<br />

Participants must bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope and pen or pencil.<br />

Sally Uglesich is a regisetered American Red Cross CPR and Safety Instructor.<br />
