Photovoltaic
Design &
Installation
This introductory
course introduces
you to the field
of Solar Photovoltaic (PV). Participants
will learn instruction on PV cells, modules,
system components including review of
equipment, system design and calculations,
safety considerations, installation
procedures, and a project proposal. The
course prepares entry-level installers for
eligibility to take Entry-Level Certification
of Knowledge of PV Systems, and, as well
as, the North American Board of Certified
Energy Practitioner (NABCEP).
Prerequisite: High school diploma; must be
able to do arithmetic calculations;
Required text: Photovoltaics Design and
Installation Manual, ISBN: 9780865715202.
(Please obtain the book before the class
starts). This course will be 40 hours in
length. Class size is limited to 20 students.
Additional meetings off campus.
