The Chapter installed new officers for their <strong>2005</strong>-2007 terms.<br />
Significantly, Chapter Treasurer Ray O’Connor became the new<br />
President of the United <strong>Veterans</strong> Organization of Nassau County.<br />
This group represents every veterans group within the county.<br />

Several members of the Chapter visited the <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong><br />
Memorial in Nashville, TN, in June <strong>2005</strong>.<br />
Public School 6 in Richmond Valley, located at 555 Page<br />
Avenue, Staten Island, New York celebrated its 5-year anniversary<br />
with an assembly on Flag Day, June 14th and a graduation<br />
of its 5th grade students on June 24th.<br />
This school’s principal, Ms. Carol C. Ildebrando, has been its<br />
principal since its completion. The dedication of this school was<br />
on Flag Day, 2001. This school’s name is the Cpl. Allan F.<br />
Kivlehan School, in honor of Cpl. Kivlehan, who served in the<br />
United States Army in Korea in 1950. He was a prisoner of war<br />
who died in captivity in 1950. The <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> <strong>Veterans</strong> Chapter<br />
on Staten Island was named after him. Many members of his<br />
family still live here on Staten Island.<br />
The Chapter recently completed its Richland County <strong>Korean</strong><br />
<strong>War</strong> Memorial project, and began immediately to look for new<br />
projects to continue its useful service.<br />
