Our chapter participated <strong>in</strong> many events throughout the past<br />
year, either fundrais<strong>in</strong>g or <strong>in</strong> pursuit of our mission of honor<strong>in</strong>g<br />
our veterans and remember<strong>in</strong>g our fallen comrades.<br />
Our quarterly vet visitation program with veterans liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
private facilities to date covers 4 area homes with approximately<br />
60 veterans <strong>in</strong> residence. We provide each with a branch-of-service<br />
ball cap and a holiday Christmas gift with a personalized<br />
card. In the summer we hold picnics, and we are consider<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g fish<strong>in</strong>g trips as well.<br />

Many of our members were honored recently with the presentation<br />
of certificates and medals for Korean wartime military<br />
service by Pennsylvania State Representatives to those men<br />
resid<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> their districts.<br />
At the last Armed Forces Day celebration, we had tables set<br />
up <strong>in</strong> our local mall comb<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g T-Shirt/Hat sales, Rose of Sharon<br />
donations, Korean War “show and tell” memorabilia, and <strong>in</strong>formational<br />
posters.<br />
