Ohio Remembers<br />

State Senator of Ohio, Merle Grace Kearns, announced the<br />

10th day of February, that <strong>The</strong> Ohio Department of<br />

Transportation approved, the request made by the Greene<br />

County Chapter 125 of KWVA, that US 35 running through<br />

Greene County be called “<strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> <strong>Veterans</strong> Memorial<br />

Highway”.<br />

Past/Present officers and President; Harley Coon, National<br />

President of KWVA traveled to every government entity whose<br />

boundaries are adjacent to US 35 Highway and got a letter of<br />

approval to support our petition to the State of Ohio<br />

KWVA, Greene County Chapter 125 of Ohio, gathered for<br />

the ribbon cutting and dedication of US 35, running through<br />

Greene County. Governor, Bab Taft, has approved and signed a<br />

proclamation designating a sign with the 16 Greene County<br />

KIA’s names to be posted under the <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> Veteran’s<br />

Memorial Highway Sign.<br />

Binghamton New York Remembers<br />

<strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> Memorial dedicated<br />

to Broome County <strong>Veterans</strong>. This<br />

memorial is located at the<br />

Courthouse in Binghamton, NY.<br />

Present at the <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> <strong>Veterans</strong> Memorial Highway dedication were: Front<br />

Row – Harold Kitts, Jimmy Rogers, and Bill Griffey Second Row – Howard<br />

Camp, George Williams, Prentice Carroll, and Fred Norckauer. Third Row – Dale<br />

Anderson, Bill McKenzie, John Dillon, George Funderburg, and Kenneth Dillon.<br />

<strong>The</strong> address of MG Richard H. Mills (Ret) at th 2nd Anniversary<br />

of the Illinois <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> Memorial Dedication on 14 June<br />

1998:<br />

An old army ballad proclaims that “God and Soldiers all People<br />

adore In time of <strong>War</strong> But Not Before When <strong>War</strong> is over and all things<br />

righted, God is forgotten and the soldier is slighted.”<br />
