<strong>The</strong> Charles N. Bikakis Chapter was formed Sept. 18, 2000.<br />

It began with a group of 15 veterans who were the organizers of<br />

a commemorative dinner to honor the <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> <strong>Veterans</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> idea of forming the local chapter came about during the<br />

many meetings necessary to bring about the commemoration.<br />

We now have 20 members and more anticipated in the next<br />

meetings. <strong>The</strong> meetings have been held at the <strong>Veterans</strong> Service<br />

Office, but we have arranged to meet at the <strong>Veterans</strong> Hall on<br />

Wilson Road, Bakersfield, California.<br />

Officers have been elected, we have our Charter, and committees<br />

have been formed.<br />

Our POW/MIA Officer, Isaac Ornelas will be the Grand<br />

Marshall of the <strong>Veterans</strong> Day Parade on November 11, 2000.<br />

efforts to form a chapter thus serving your local veterans.)<br />

IN MEMORY - LEST WE FORGET<br />

<strong>The</strong> second addition listing the men KIA/MIA in Korea during<br />

the <strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> 1950 to 1953, will be ready for mailing in the<br />

early summer of 2001. We have added thousand of company<br />

names (letters) to the men KIA/MIA in the U.S. Army. Only a<br />

few hundred changes to the men in the Navy, Marines and Air<br />

Force. We found hundreds of men that died in Korea not listed<br />

in the first book We have also listed a few deaths elsewhere in<br />

the service of the United States during the <strong>Korean</strong> Conflict.<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are no memorials in this book. <strong>The</strong> cost was just to high.<br />

This seconded addition has over 34,900 men listed. <strong>The</strong>re is a<br />

form letter for relatives of a deceased service man to request a<br />

copy of “INDIVIDUAL DECEASED PERSONNEL FILE”.<br />

<strong>The</strong> files are available to relatives of the deceased serviceman<br />

with out charge. See the book for details.<br />
