Largest CIPP project in Ireland
CIPP has been used to rehabilitate twin 1,350 mm diameter culverts
crossing the Ballyogan Stream that were at risk of structural failure at
the Ballyogan Landfill Site, just outside of Dublin, Ireland. Insituform
Environmental Techniques were subcontracted to reline twin water culverts
that convey the Ballyogan Stream through the 62 hectare landfill site.
Rehabilitation works took place using two single shot installations, each
271 metres long, using CIPP lining technology. The project was the largest
CIPP lining job in Ireland to date.
Considering trenchless under Victoria Harbour
Tunnel boring, microtunnelling and HDD are all being considered for
the construction of more than 20 kilometres of deep sewage tunnels under
Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour.
Proponent AECOM will build a sewage conveyance system of deep tunnels
to transport the remaining raw sewage for enhanced treatment and
disinfection at the Stonecutters Island treatment facility. Upon completion,
more than 20 kilometres of deep sewage tunnels will cover areas at a maximum
depth of 130 metres below sea level.
