Orleans will spend $US196 million over the next<br />
five years to reduce sewage leaks from New<br />
Orleans’ deteriorating east bank sewer system.<br />
Thames Water awards contract for Lee Tunnel<br />
Thames Water has awarded a £400 million contract for the<br />
construction of the Lee Tunnel, located in East London,<br />
which will prevent sewage entering the River Lee. The contract<br />
is the largest ever awarded by Thames Water.<br />
Repairing Sarajevo’s sewers<br />
The World Bank has approved $US35 million in<br />
financing for the Sarajevo Waste Water Project to<br />
rehabilitate wastewater infrastructure in Sarajevo,<br />
a vast proportion of which was severely damaged<br />
in the 1992–95 conflict.<br />
