COMMERCIAL & TECHNICAL INFORMATION<br />
1. DRAWING & SPECIFICATIONS:<br />
The <strong>work</strong> will be carried out as per <strong>the</strong> direction and to <strong>the</strong> reasonable satisfaction of <strong>the</strong><br />
Engineer-in-charge in accordance with <strong>the</strong> approved Drawings, Design and specification.<br />
The <strong>work</strong> will be executed under <strong>the</strong> supervision of <strong>the</strong> General Manager (Civil) of <strong>the</strong><br />
Corporation or any o<strong>the</strong>r Officer authorised by him. Such Officer will be deemed to be <strong>the</strong><br />
Engineer-in-charge of <strong>the</strong> <strong>work</strong>.<br />
All items of <strong>work</strong> must be executed in <strong>work</strong>man like manner in accordance with Orissa<br />
Detailed Standard Specification or any o<strong>the</strong>r standard specification as prescribed by <strong>the</strong> Engineerin-charge.<br />
2. MATERIALS TO BE SUPPLIED BY CONTRACTOR:<br />
The contractor shall make his own arrangement <strong>for</strong> procurement of all materials,<br />
equipment, tools and plants etc. not supplied by <strong>the</strong> Corporation, as required in connection with<br />
execution of <strong>the</strong> <strong>work</strong>. All materials, articles shall be <strong>the</strong> best of <strong>the</strong>ir respective kinds <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>work</strong><br />
described in <strong>the</strong> specification and schedule. Samples of materials shall be furnished at <strong>the</strong><br />
contractor’s expenses to <strong>the</strong> Engineer-in-charge <strong>for</strong> testing at laboratory and <strong>the</strong>n approved <strong>the</strong><br />
same if found fit <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> execution of <strong>the</strong> <strong>work</strong> .<br />
3. TEST, INSPECTION & REJECTION OF MATERIAL & WORK:<br />
The contractor shall provide proper facilities at all times <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> testing of materials and<br />
inspection of <strong>the</strong> <strong>work</strong> by <strong>the</strong> Engineer-in-charge and <strong>the</strong> Engineer-in-charge or authorised officer<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Corporation shall have access at all time to <strong>the</strong> place of storage or manufacturer where<br />
materials are being used under <strong>the</strong> contract to determine <strong>the</strong> execution is proceeding in<br />
accordance with <strong>the</strong> drawings and specifications.<br />
The contractor shall upon demand also furnish <strong>the</strong> inspection test certificate from <strong>the</strong><br />
vendor when he is purchasing <strong>the</strong> materials, in respect of which certificates are usually available.<br />
The Engineer-in-charge shall have <strong>the</strong> power to reject at any stage any material or <strong>work</strong> he<br />
considers defective in quality or material or <strong>work</strong>manship. The rejection made at <strong>the</strong> contractor’s<br />
expenses. In case of default, <strong>the</strong> Engineer-in-charge shall have power to employ and pay o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
person to carry out <strong>the</strong> orders at <strong>the</strong> contractor’s and all expenses <strong>the</strong>reon shall be borne by <strong>the</strong><br />
contractor.<br />
