COMMERCIAL & TECHNICAL INFORMATION 1. DRAWING & SPECIFICATIONS: The work will be carried out as per the direction and to the reasonable satisfaction of the Engineer-in-charge in accordance with the approved Drawings, Design and specification. The work will be executed under the supervision of the General Manager (Civil) of the Corporation or any other Officer authorised by him. Such Officer will be deemed to be the Engineer-in-charge of the work. All items of work must be executed in workman like manner in accordance with Orissa Detailed Standard Specification or any other standard specification as prescribed by the Engineerin-charge. 2. MATERIALS TO BE SUPPLIED BY CONTRACTOR: The contractor shall make his own arrangement for procurement of all materials, equipment, tools and plants etc. not supplied by the Corporation, as required in connection with execution of the work. All materials, articles shall be the best of their respective kinds for the work described in the specification and schedule. Samples of materials shall be furnished at the contractor’s expenses to the Engineer-in-charge for testing at laboratory and then approved the same if found fit for the execution of the work . 3. TEST, INSPECTION & REJECTION OF MATERIAL & WORK: The contractor shall provide proper facilities at all times for the testing of materials and inspection of the work by the Engineer-in-charge and the Engineer-in-charge or authorised officer of the Corporation shall have access at all time to the place of storage or manufacturer where materials are being used under the contract to determine the execution is proceeding in accordance with the drawings and specifications. The contractor shall upon demand also furnish the inspection test certificate from the vendor when he is purchasing the materials, in respect of which certificates are usually available. The Engineer-in-charge shall have the power to reject at any stage any material or work he considers defective in quality or material or workmanship. The rejection made at the contractor’s expenses. In case of default, the Engineer-in-charge shall have power to employ and pay other person to carry out the orders at the contractor’s and all expenses thereon shall be borne by the contractor. 67
