f) Cleaning, roughening and plastering with 1:4 CM, 12 mm thick of container outer wall, cone & bottom dome, columns, Ring Beam, walk way & misc., stair case etc. all complete, including all materials scaffolding, labour and as per direction of E.I.C. g) Replacement of hand railing consisting of 32 NB MS post & two layers of 32 NB MS horizontal runner in walk way along with painting (including all material, scaffolding, labour & T&) etc. complete & as directed by E.I.C.. h) Repair & painting of stair case hand railing (including all materials, scaffolding, labour & T&P). i) Cleaning surface, chipping, sand blasting, removing loose materials, rebaring, welding application of bond coat, centering shuttering and concrete grouting for jacketing, plastering to braces ( including all material, scaffolding, labour & T&P) & as directed by E.I.C. . j) External painting to all outer surface with two coats of weather proof cement paint over a coat of primer ( including all material, scaffolding, labour & T&P) and as directed by E.I.C.. k) Plinth protection with CC M20 of 100 mm thick with plaster finish. l) Painting all pipes with black anti-corrosive paint as per site requirement. m) Supply and installation of CI manhole cover of 50 mm dia with locking arrangement. n) Ultrasonic water level indicator with remote display unit complete. 1.2 Site Visit: The tenderer before tendering shall inspect the site at his own cost in consultation with Engineer-in-Charge of work and shall satisfy himself with regard to the nature and extent of the work involved, the actual site conditions, existing facilities & shall collect any other information which may be required before submitting the tender. Any claim afterwards by the tenderer shall not be entertained on account of the ignorance of the site conditions. 1.3 Format Language and Units: The language of all documents shall be in English. Units of measurement in the documents, on the drawings, and the submissions shall be in S.I/ Metric Units. 48
1.4 Inspection & Testing: For all materials, the contractor shall furnish Manufacturer’s test certificate with each consignment. At site, Testing and inspection shall be carried out as per Indian standards/International Standards in presence of Engineer-in-Charge, contractor and manufacturer. The contractor shall detail out the codes and standards in accordance with which the testing shall be carried out. Inspection by the Engineer-in-charge of the Department shall not relieve the contractor of his liability for rectifying the defects which may subsequently appear or be detected during testing and commissioning or subsequent operation. After rectification of the defects or replacement, the equipments shall be re-tested to the satisfaction of the Department. All equipments, labour, tools & tackles, instruments and other facilities for testing shall be provided by the contractor. He shall also maintain records of all the tests and furnish copies of the same to the Department. Whenever untested materials are used, written permission from the Engineerin- Charge shall be obtained. Manufacturer’s test certificates shall be furnished by the contractor for such equipments and materials used. The Department reserves the right to test any material at any of the reputed laboratories if necessity arises & the cost of such test(s) shall be borne by the contractor & rejected materials shall have to be replaced by the contractor by approved material at his cost. 1.5 Completion Schedule: The time is the essence of this contract. The entire job is to be completed within a time frame of 03 ( Three ) months from the date of issue of work order by the General Manager (Civil), IDCO, W/S & EC Divn.-I, Bhubaneswar. The tenderer shall submit a Bar Chart indicating starting and completion dates of each activity such as submission of designs & drawings, site mobilisation, procurement of materials and equipments, transportation, execution, assembly/ erection, testing, trial running and commissioning without which the tender shall be liable for rejection. On approval, the Bar Chart shall form a part of the contract as detailed in the Section-6 & 7 of this DTCN. The successful tenderer shall submit PERT Net work based on above Bar Chart for monitoring of the project as per relevant clause of “Conditions of Contract/Special Condition of Contract”. 49
