1.4 Inspection & Testing:<br />

For all materials, <strong>the</strong> contractor shall furnish Manufacturer’s test certificate with each<br />

consignment. At site, Testing and inspection shall be carried out as per Indian<br />

standards/International Standards in presence of Engineer-in-Charge, contractor and<br />

manufacturer. The contractor shall detail out <strong>the</strong> codes and standards in accordance with<br />

which <strong>the</strong> testing shall be carried out.<br />

Inspection by <strong>the</strong> Engineer-in-charge of <strong>the</strong> Department shall not relieve <strong>the</strong><br />

contractor of his liability <strong>for</strong> rectifying <strong>the</strong> defects which may subsequently appear or be<br />

detected during testing and commissioning or subsequent operation. After rectification of<br />

<strong>the</strong> defects or replacement, <strong>the</strong> equipments shall be re-tested to <strong>the</strong> satisfaction of <strong>the</strong><br />

Department. All equipments, labour, tools & tackles, instruments and o<strong>the</strong>r facilities <strong>for</strong><br />

testing shall be provided by <strong>the</strong> contractor. He shall also maintain records of all <strong>the</strong> tests<br />

and furnish copies of <strong>the</strong> same to <strong>the</strong> Department.<br />

Whenever untested materials are used, written permission from <strong>the</strong> Engineerin-<br />

Charge shall be obtained. Manufacturer’s test certificates shall be furnished by <strong>the</strong><br />

contractor <strong>for</strong> such equipments and materials used.<br />

The Department reserves <strong>the</strong> right to test any material at any of <strong>the</strong> reputed<br />

laboratories if necessity arises & <strong>the</strong> cost of such test(s) shall be borne by <strong>the</strong> contractor &<br />

rejected materials shall have to be replaced by <strong>the</strong> contractor by approved material at his<br />

cost.<br />

1.5 Completion Schedule:<br />

The time is <strong>the</strong> essence of this contract. The entire job is to be completed within a<br />

time frame of 03 ( Three ) months from <strong>the</strong> date of issue of <strong>work</strong> order by <strong>the</strong> General<br />

Manager (Civil), <strong>IDCO</strong>, W/S & EC Divn.-I, Bhubaneswar. The tenderer shall submit a Bar<br />

Chart indicating starting and completion dates of each activity such as submission of<br />

designs & drawings, site mobilisation, procurement of materials and equipments,<br />

transportation, execution, assembly/ erection, testing, trial running and commissioning<br />

without which <strong>the</strong> tender shall be liable <strong>for</strong> rejection.<br />

On approval, <strong>the</strong> Bar Chart shall <strong>for</strong>m a part of <strong>the</strong> contract as detailed in <strong>the</strong><br />

Section-6 & 7 of this DTCN. The successful tenderer shall submit PERT Net <strong>work</strong> based on<br />

above Bar Chart <strong>for</strong> monitoring of <strong>the</strong> project as per relevant clause of “Conditions of<br />

Contract/Special Condition of Contract”.<br />
