7. TENDER PRICES<br />

7.1 The contractor should note that unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise stated <strong>the</strong> tender is strictly on item rate<br />

basis and his attention is drawn to <strong>the</strong> fact that rates <strong>for</strong> each and every item should be<br />

correct, <strong>work</strong>able and self-supporting.<br />

7.2 All duties, taxes, insurance, transportation, royality, loading, unloading, storage, watch &<br />

ward, cost of T&P and o<strong>the</strong>r levies payable by <strong>the</strong> contractor under <strong>the</strong> contract or <strong>for</strong> any<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r cause shall be included in <strong>the</strong> rates and prices and total tender price submitted by<br />

<strong>the</strong> tender and <strong>the</strong> evaluation and comparison of <strong>bid</strong>s by <strong>the</strong> Corporation shall be made<br />

accordingly.<br />

7.3 Rates shall be quoted both in figures and in words in clear legible writing. No overwriting is<br />

allowed. All scoring and cancellation should be countersigned by <strong>the</strong> Tenderer. In case of<br />

illegibility, <strong>the</strong> interpretation, <strong>the</strong> decision of <strong>the</strong> Engineer-in-charge of <strong>work</strong> shall be final. All<br />

entries shall be in English Language. In case if on check <strong>the</strong>re are differences between <strong>the</strong><br />

rates given by <strong>the</strong> <strong>bid</strong>der in words and figures or in <strong>the</strong> amounts <strong>work</strong>ed out by him, <strong>the</strong><br />

following procedure should be followed.<br />

(i) When <strong>the</strong>re is difference between <strong>the</strong> rates in figures and in words, <strong>the</strong> rates which<br />

correspond to <strong>the</strong> amount <strong>work</strong>ed out by <strong>the</strong> <strong>bid</strong>der shall be taken as correct.<br />

(ii) When <strong>the</strong> amount of an item is not <strong>work</strong>ed out by <strong>the</strong> <strong>bid</strong>der or it does not correspond with<br />

<strong>the</strong> rate written ei<strong>the</strong>r in figures or words, <strong>the</strong>n rate quoted by <strong>the</strong> <strong>bid</strong>der in words shall be<br />

taken as correct.<br />

(iii) When <strong>the</strong> rate quoted by <strong>the</strong> <strong>bid</strong>der in figures and in words tallies but <strong>the</strong> amount is not<br />

<strong>work</strong>ed out correctly, <strong>the</strong> rates quoted by <strong>the</strong> <strong>bid</strong>der shall be taken as correct and not <strong>the</strong><br />

amount.<br />

7.4 Engineer’s decision shall be final and binding on <strong>the</strong> contractor regarding clarification of<br />

items in <strong>the</strong> Schedule with respect to <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r sections of <strong>the</strong> Contract.<br />
