CeraGlass India<br />

Anand Sharma, Union Minster for Commerce & Industry, and<br />
Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister, Rajasthan, inaugurating CeraGlass India<br />
CeraGlass <strong>2010</strong>, India’s first comprehensive ceramics,<br />
glass and allied products show achieved its objective<br />
of catalyzing market access, technology transfer and<br />
investments in this sector. Inaugurated by Mr Anand<br />
Sharma, Union Minster for Commerce & Industry, and<br />
Mr Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, it touched<br />
upon all aspects of the ceramics and glass industry,<br />
though a complete package of focused conferences,<br />
exploring international business opportunities at the<br />
buyer seller meet, elaborate expositions and the<br />
traditional mix through CeraGlass Haat.<br />
Spread over an area of 6,130 sqm, 180 exhibitors took<br />
part in 9 concurrent shows. About 373 new products<br />
were launched at the event and 8,383 business enquiries,<br />
including 549 from foreign buyers, were generated.<br />
International delegates representing 14 nations came<br />
together at the special Buyer-Seller Meet, organized in<br />
the association with CAPEXIL, opening new channels<br />
of interaction.<br />
Over 230 representatives from the industry conferred<br />
on focused topics and explored business opportunities<br />
in ceramics & glass industry with 90 experts from<br />
government, industry, research organisations and<br />
academia.<br />
A special add on to the show was the cultural<br />
extravaganza at the CeraGlass Haat. A lively, interactive<br />
space, the Haat displayed works from artists in the field<br />
of ceramics, glass, terracotta and blue pottery. Spread<br />
over an area of 1,500 sq mt, with imaginative, traditional<br />
and rural architecture, the Haat was especially designed<br />
to bring to life the vibrant colours of rich Indian pottery,<br />
ceramics and glass heritage.<br />

The Ambassador urged Indian enterprises to explore<br />
opportunity in Indonesia, which has huge, unexplored<br />
natural resources in terms of crude oil, natural gas, tin<br />
and copper. He was particularly keen about inviting Indian<br />
automobile giants to set up a tractor power manufacturing<br />
facility in Indonesia. The potential investment sectors in<br />
Indonesia are power, coal mining, IT & communication,<br />
automobiles, retail, agriculture, cotton textiles.<br />
