ASCEND Group Inc., the Asperger and Autism Alliance <strong>for</strong> Greater Philadelphia, a<br />

nonpr<strong>of</strong>it organization, was founded in 2001 by <strong>parents</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>children</strong> <strong>with</strong> Asperger<br />

Syndrome (AS) as a means to create a community <strong>of</strong> people who are concerned about<br />

the many ways that AS and other Autism Spectrum Disorders affect <strong>children</strong> and adults<br />

and their families in the home, at school, and in every area <strong>of</strong> their lives. In 2003, it was<br />

expanded to serve families <strong>of</strong> adults as well. ASCEND refers adults on the Autism<br />

<strong>spectrum</strong> to regional and national resources.<br />

Learn how to advocate <strong>for</strong> your <strong>children</strong> in their school setting, in<strong>for</strong>mation, speakers,<br />

support. Children will be at the Center <strong>for</strong> Creative Play at no cost. TSS provided free <strong>of</strong><br />

charge.<br />

A parent-driven support network created by families <strong>for</strong> families <strong>of</strong> <strong>children</strong> and adults<br />
