Hospital Rate Review
The Office of the Consumer Advocate reviewed thirty-three (34) hospital rate increase applications.
The West Virginia Health Care Authority approves or disapproves hospital rates and budget
adjustment applications. The Office of the Consumer Advocate reviews all rate filings and may
intervene for the interests of West Virginia residents in the Health Care Authority's rate filing review.
In particular, the Office of the Consumer Advocate filed documentation with the West Virginia Health
Care Authority to be recognized as an affected party in the Rate Application filed by United Hospital
Center, Inc. and that matter is pending at the time that this report has been filed
