Why Kentucky?
“If I was going to come south, I wanted to make
absolutely sure that I would be coached by the very
best people in a program where the athletes and the
team were well supported by the school. Kentucky
has such a great sporting reputation and Craig, Robbie
and Jenae are just exactly the type of people that
I wanted to spend the next few years of my life with.
Coaches! Conference! Cats! Kentucky!”
Coach Skinner on Edwards:
“Tess is a gifted player and a great teammate. She
will do whatever it takes to make an impact in our
program right away and compete to be our starting
setter. She is one of only a few setters at the Division
I level who has the ability to excel in all areas of the
setting position.”
Games in 2004 and was one of only 20 athletes invited
to train with the 2004 Canadian Junior National Team
... Was awarded the 2005 Evelyn Holick Award, presented
annually at the Ontario Championships to a female
youth-division athlete who demonstrates the qualities of
determination, leadership, athletic ability, sportsmanship
and fair play ... Is left-handed ... Club coach was
Cathy O’Doherty.
Personal – Full name is Tessa Louise Audrey Edwards
... Daughter of Paul and Eva Edwards… Born Dec. 4,
1987 in Ottawa, Ontario … Has four sisters - Christina
(19), Laura (14), Grace (7) and Holly (4) and one brother
- Dean (12).
High School – Was a four-time Ontario Volleyball
Association Award of Excellence recipient ... A two-time
member of the Ontario Provincial team ... Served as the
captain for her club teams for five of six seasons ... Was
a member of the Region 6 Team at the Ontario Summer

Why Kentucky?
“I chose Kentucky because this place simply fits
me. The girls on the team were so friendly and
made me feel at home right away. I really liked the
campus, and Lexington itself is so beautiful with all
the horse farms around. I knew right away I wanted
be a part of UK.”
Coach Skinner on Fisher:
"Ashlee has great jumping ability and has just begun
playing outside hitter this year. We believe that she can
play that position very well in college and we look forward
to coaching her."
Played for the Milwaukee Sting club program and
helped guide her 15-Open team to a third-place finish at
nationals and her 16-Open team took second at nationals
in 2003, where she earned All-America honors ... Was
coached at West Bend West by Laurie Scholemer ... Was
coached at Milwaukee Sting by Doug Hext.
Personal – Daughter of Mark and Laura Fisher …
Born Sept. 27, 1986 in Fort Washington, Wisc. ... Has
two sisters - Hilaree (13) and Emilee (8) and one brother
- Jonathan (10).
High School – Helped guide her squad to the Wisconsin
state title match in 2004, earning all-tournament
team honors ... Was named second-team All-Conference
in the Little Ten and earned All-County recognition as a
senior ... Also was named West Bend West's most valuable
player in 2004 ... Was named fifth-team All-State by
the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches’ Association in 2004
... Was a three-year letterwinner in volleyball and also
earned a high school letters in track and basketball ...
