177. Sister Faust<strong>in</strong>a, while mak<strong>in</strong>g her monthly day of recollection, took advantage of<br />

the conferences with Father Bonaventure Kadeja was giv<strong>in</strong>g dur<strong>in</strong>g a retreat for the<br />

sanatorium personnel.<br />

178. The word “confessors” seems to <strong>in</strong>dicate that the Sa<strong>in</strong>t was told to write the<br />

Diary not only by Father Sopocko, but also by Father Andrasz.<br />

179. Sister Faust<strong>in</strong>a‟s spiritual director, Father Michael Sopocko, remembered her<br />

special gifts: visions, illum<strong>in</strong>ations, enlightenments, hear<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ner voices, etc. She is<br />

referr<strong>in</strong>g to one of these gifts here; i.e., <strong>in</strong>terior knowledge of events touch<strong>in</strong>g people related<br />

to her. (See A. SF. Father Sopocko‟s letter of March 7, 1972).<br />

cross, a rosary and a belt. It is this cross that Sister Faust<strong>in</strong>a meant.<br />

lectures to the sisters on ascetical subjects. These were familiarly called “Catechism.” Sister<br />

Faust<strong>in</strong>a probably is referr<strong>in</strong>g to one of these.<br />

190. Every year, besides the eight-day retreat, the sisters have a three-day retreat.<br />

191. An eight-day retreat was be<strong>in</strong>g held <strong>in</strong> the house, preced<strong>in</strong>g the profession of<br />

vows and tak<strong>in</strong>g of the veil (April 20-29). It was conducted by Father Plaza, S.J., Superior of<br />

the house prov<strong>in</strong>cial at 8 Maly Rynek, Cracow (A. SMDM-C).<br />
