Working with existing profiles
Introduction
This topic describes how to work with profiles that have already been
created. It describes how to:
❑ Rename a profile
❑ Delete a profile
❑ Select a different profile to allow you to communicate with a
different VCode
Renaming a profile
To rename a profile:
1. In the Device Selection group box of PlateTag, make sure that an
Ethernet-based profile is selected if you are connecting using
Ethernet or a serial-based profile is selected if you are connecting
using serial.
2. Select View > Diagnostics.
The VCode Diagnostics dialog box opens after a few seconds.
3. Click the Profiles tab.
4. Select the profile in the Select a profile list box and rename it.
The Update Profile button is changed to read Rename Profile.
5. Click Rename Profile.
6. Click Update Profile to save the changes to the profile.
Deleting a profile
To delete a profile:
1. In the Device Selection group box of PlateTag, make sure that an
Ethernet-based profile is selected if you are connecting using
Ethernet or a serial-based profile is selected if you are connecting
using serial.
2. Select View > Diagnostics.
The VCode Diagnostics dialog box opens after a few seconds.
3. Click the Profiles tab.
4. Select the profile you wish to delete from the Select a profile list
box.
5. Click Delete profile.
6. Click Close to close the diagnostics software.
