66 Chapter 4: Setting up the VCode VCode User Guide Name Description Default Value Printer speed Decreasing the value decreases the printing speed. A higher speed can increase the throughput of the VCode, but the positions of the fields printed on the label are more likely to drift, in which case you may need to reprint the label. Medium About plate stage and head positions Introduction During operation, both the plate stage and head move to different positions. This topic summarizes those positions and gives the background information needed to complete the following procedures: ❑ “Setting plate stage auto-repositioning” on page 68 ❑ “Setting the robot pickup angle” on page 72 ❑ “Placing a plate” on page 74 ❑ “About the vertical plate stage positions” on page 75 Plate stage teachpoints The positions at which the plate stage stops are known as teachpoints. In general, a teachpoint defines a specific point in space. In the case of the VCode plate stage the teachpoints are defined as an angle from a position defined as “home”. There are three teachpoints: ❑ Robot pickup angle ❑ Apply angle ❑ Read angle !! IMPORTANT !! Accurate teachpoints are essential for problemfree operation. !! IMPORTANT !! It is possible to change any plate stage teachpoint in VCode Diagnostics. However, the only teachpoint that you should consider changing is the robot apply angle. Applicator head positions You cannot adjust the applicator head positions yourself. If the applicator head is out of alignment with either the printer media or the plate stage, contact the Velocity11 Service Center.

Teachpoint retention The teachpoints are retained when the VCode and computer are turned off, although they will be lost if you delete the profile used with the VCode.
