56 Chapter 3: Installing the VCode VCode User Guide Passing data through the firewall If your organization insists that a firewall should remain on, it is possible to configure the firewall to allow data that is transmitted on a particular port to pass through. If you are using dynamic IP addresses the firewall should pass data though on UDP ports 67 and 7611. If you are using static IP addresses, the firewall should pass data though on UDP port 7611. For help configuring the firewall, consult an experienced network administrator. Installing VCode software Introduction After connecting the air tubing and power cable, and setting up the network between the computer and the VCode, you can install the software. Procedure The installation wizard on the VCode software CD-ROM installs both PlateTag and VCode Diagnostics. To install PlateTag and VCode Diagnostics: 1. In Windows, navigate to the CD-ROM drive. 2. Navigate to the software > PlateTag folder. 3. Double-click setup.exe. The installation wizard opens. 4. Follow the wizard’s instructions, selecting the Complete setup option.
