Using bar code verification
Introduction
This topic describes how to set up the bar code reader to verify that
every bar code printed and applied can be read.
Before you start
This procedure assumes that PlateTag is already open and
communicating with the VCode.
Procedure
To set up label verification:
1. In PlateTag, select Edit > Preferences.
2. Click the Jobs tab.
3. In the Bar Code Verification group box, select Verify bar codes
after printing and applying labels.
4. In the Maximum number of retries text box, type the number of
additional times that the bar code reader will try to read the bar
code in the event of a misread.
5. If you want the VCode to reprint labels that are misread:
a. Select Auto-reprint misprinted labels.
b. Type a value in the Maximum number of reprints text box.
This is the maximum number of times that the printer will print,
apply, and attempt to verify a label.
