CALENDAR OF RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS AND OBSERVANCES: 2012-2013
Seattle Public Schools policy states that, “no religious belief or non-belief should be promoted by the School District or its
employees, and none should be disparaged.” However, we understand that the students, staff members, and families in our
school communities may observe many different religious holidays, and we strive to take these holidays into account when
scheduling activities. This calendar of religious holidays and observances will help you identify dates that might prove
challenging for some students to participate in school events. You are the best authority when it comes to knowing what
accommodations your school community may need in scheduling school events.
