Cutting Guide for Rotary Cutting<br />

Make a paper template with the enclosed<br />

cutting guide template. Carefully place one<br />

edge of the template along the edge of the<br />

Cutting 45° Angle Diamonds<br />

Line up the 45° angle on the ruler with the tip edge of set 1.<br />

Trim the edge as shown in Figure 1. After trimming the edge<br />

cut 4 - 1 13 /16" segments as shown in Figure 2. Use a ruler<br />

grided in 1 /16" or use the cutting guide on page 5. Repeat for<br />

set 2 and 3. Trim the edge of set 1R as shown in Figure 3.<br />

Continue cutting as shown in Figure 4. Cut 4 - 1 13 /16"<br />

segments. Repeat for set 2R and 3R.<br />

Hint for Sewing Set Together<br />

Seams are not going in the same direction, they cross at<br />

the 1 /4" seam allowance. Pin each intersection. The pin<br />

should be placed where corresponding seams meet. Sew<br />

carefully.<br />

long strips down to measure 1 7 /8" x 73 3 /4" long. Sew to top<br />

and bottom of quilt. Cut remaining two strips down to<br />

Cut 10 - 1 7 /8" wide strips. Cut 2 of the strips in half to make<br />

4 - 1 7 /8" x 21" half-strips. Sew 2 - 1 7 /8" x 42" strips, and<br />

1 - 1 7 /8" x 21" strips together to make one long strip. Make 4<br />

total. Cut 2 of the long strips down to measure 86 1 /2" and<br />

sew to the top and bottom. Cut the remaining 2 strips down<br />

to measure 89 1 /4" and sew to the sides of the quilt. See<br />
