WHERE? At the Wadi Degla Sporting Club (WDSC) a private multi-sport centre in Cairo, Egypt. WHAT FOR? To increase the archery level of some countries, in order to increase the number of highly competitive archers. WHICH COUNTRIES ARE ELEGIBLE? Any country, nevertheless in case of affluence, priority will be given to the countries from the Middle East and Arabic regions. WHO IS ELEGIBLE? HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN GO? There is no limit. But keep in mind that on site there is only one coach to help your delegation. For quality services, we recommend small groups (maximum 9 persons; for instance 8 archers and one coach). WHO WILL TRAIN/COACH YOUR DELEGATION? Mr. KIM Jeong-Ho from Korea is a 50 + year old licensed Physical Education Teacher. He has been an elite archer and member of some business/company teams such as Kyung Buk, Han Kok Steel and Samick. He has been National Head Coach of the Korean Archery Team. Archers and archery coaches. WHAT ARE THE LANGUAGES USED? Mr KIM Jeong-Ho can speak English. French and Arabic translation can be ensured by archers and coaches who are on site. WHICH SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON SITE? - Training of promising archers - Educating archery coaches (including continuing education) - Training Camps WHAT DOES THE CENTRE LOOKS LIKE? HOW LONG CAN THE TRAINING/COACHING BE FOR? From a few days up to an entire year, just choose what is most convenient for you.
The WDSC is a modern and large private multi-sports Centre: 14 different sports are offered on a 37-hectare property. WHERE TO STAY? On site! The bedrooms are 200 metres away from the archery range. The restaurant and bar area is a little further. Hence, once on site no expense and no time spent for local transport. There are 8 renovated bedrooms with their own bathroom for up to three persons. There is a restaurant and bar area surrounded by a relaxing water garden. The centre has private security. HOW MUCH FOR ACCOMMODATION? Full board is available at the following daily rates: • US$ 45.00 / person / day in a single room, • US$ 30.00 / person / day in double room, • US$ 25.00 / person / day in triple room. These prices include 3 meals per day and a room for the night. FITA will provide special assistance to the countries from the Middle East area with free accommodation for up to one pair of Olympic potential men and women (4 persons). The profile of the archers should allow for potential selection to the 2012 (or 2008) Olympic Games. HOW MUCH FOR COACHING SERVICES? Free for all FITA approved users. THE ARCHERY FACILITIES A specific 70m x 110m north oriented grass field was built in May 2006. HOW FAR FROM THE AIRPORT? Cairo is a large city with a lot of traffic. Hence, it can take from half an hour to one hour to drive between the airport and the WDSC. HOW MUCH FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE CENTRE? About US$ 30.00 Important: Once at WDSC, no local transport is required since rooms are provided on site.
