WHERE?<br />

At the Wadi Degla Sporting Club (WDSC) a<br />

private multi-sport centre in Cairo, Egypt.<br />

WHAT FOR?<br />

To increase the archery level of some<br />

countries, in order to increase the number of<br />

highly competitive archers.<br />

WHICH COUNTRIES ARE ELEGIBLE?<br />

Any country, nevertheless in case of<br />

affluence, priority will be given to the<br />

countries from the Middle East and Arabic<br />

regions.<br />

WHO IS ELEGIBLE?<br />

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN GO?<br />

There is no limit. But keep in mind that on<br />

site there is only one coach to help your<br />

delegation. For quality services, we<br />

recommend small groups (maximum 9<br />

persons; for instance 8 archers and one<br />

coach).<br />

WHO WILL TRAIN/COACH YOUR<br />

DELEGATION?<br />

Mr. KIM Jeong-Ho from Korea is a 50 + year<br />

old licensed Physical Education Teacher. He<br />

has been an elite archer and member of<br />

some business/company teams such as<br />

Kyung Buk, Han Kok Steel and Samick. He<br />

has been National Head Coach of the Korean<br />

Archery Team.<br />

WHAT ARE THE LANGUAGES USED?<br />

Mr KIM Jeong-Ho can speak English. French<br />

and Arabic translation can be ensured by<br />

archers and coaches who are on site.<br />

WHICH SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON<br />

SITE?<br />

- Training of promising archers<br />

- Educating archery coaches (including<br />

continuing education)<br />

- Training Camps<br />

WHAT DOES THE <strong>CENTRE</strong> LOOKS LIKE?<br />

HOW LONG CAN THE<br />

TRAINING/COACHING BE FOR?<br />

From a few days up to an entire year, just<br />

choose what is most convenient for you.


The WDSC is a modern and large private<br />

multi-sports Centre: 14 different sports are<br />

offered on a 37-hectare property.<br />

WHERE TO STAY?<br />

On site! The bedrooms are 200 metres<br />

away from the archery range. The restaurant<br />

and bar area is a little further. Hence, once<br />

on site no expense and no time spent for<br />

local transport.<br />

There are 8 renovated bedrooms with their<br />

own bathroom for up to three persons.<br />

There is a restaurant and bar area<br />

surrounded by a relaxing water garden. The<br />

centre has private security.<br />

HOW MUCH FOR ACCOMMODATION?<br />

Full board is available at the following daily<br />

rates:<br />

• US$ 45.00 / person / day in a single room,<br />

• US$ 30.00 / person / day in double room,<br />

• US$ 25.00 / person / day in triple room.<br />

These prices include 3 meals per day and a<br />

room for the night.<br />

<strong>FITA</strong> will provide special assistance to the<br />

countries from the Middle East area with free<br />

accommodation for up to one pair of Olympic<br />

potential men and women (4 persons). The<br />

profile of the archers should allow for<br />

potential selection to the 2012 (or 2008)<br />

Olympic Games.<br />

THE <strong>ARCHERY</strong> FACILITIES<br />

A specific 70m x 110m north oriented grass<br />

field was built in May 2006.<br />

HOW FAR FROM THE AIRPORT?<br />

Cairo is a large city with a lot of traffic.<br />

Hence, it can take from half an hour to one<br />

hour to drive between the airport and the<br />

WDSC.<br />

HOW MUCH FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE<br />

<strong>CENTRE</strong>?<br />

About US$ 30.00<br />

Important: Once at WDSC, no local<br />

transport is required since rooms are<br />

provided on site.


A 4-room building is available for archery<br />

only, including an equipment repair room, a<br />

storage room, a rest room and a large office<br />

& meeting room.<br />

Thanks to the Mediterranean climate,<br />

outdoor practice at long distances is possible<br />

all year long.<br />

IS IT FOR COMPOUND AS WELL?<br />

Since this centre is mainly funded with<br />

Olympic money, its main focus is on Recurve<br />

archery; thus, priority will be given to<br />

Recurve Archers and Coaches. Compound<br />

archers and Coaches will be entitled to use<br />

the <strong>FITA</strong> Middle East Archery Center when<br />

some gaps are available and; at their own<br />

cost (<strong>FITA</strong> will arrange free coaching from<br />

Mr. KIM Jeong-Ho and use of the archery<br />

facilities).<br />
