APPLICATIONS
The usual applications include
telemetry as well as remote control
and surveillance. The radio
modems are typically placed at
locations to which cable connection
is impossible or too costly to
build. A wireless connection is
flexible and easy to install. The
distance between the stations
included in a wireless communications
network is scaleable
in both point-to-point and
point-to-multipoint applications.
Ordinary range of direct contact
is several kilometres. Longer distances
can be handled by routing
the message through radio
modems acting as repeaters.
GPS: Send data several
kilometres between
GPS base and rover.
Agriculture: SATEL
data radios control
irrigation equipment
using GPS.
Ports: Identify and
control positions of
shipping containers in
ports and canals.
Gas and Oil: Monitor
data and control
flow in remote positions.
Construction: SATEL
data radios control
graders using GPS.
Industrial Applications:
SATEL Data Radios use
PROFIBUS to control trains,
trolleys, rotators, etc.
Airports: Control traffic
signs, security gateways,
weather stations, fuel stations,
and terminal gates.
Fleet Management: Track
locations and send messages
to city busses, cabs, emergency
vehicles, and patrol cars.
Surveying: Use your own
instrument and data collector
to operate your data collector
from the pole.
Highway Signs: Warn motorists
of road conditions and
area alerts. Control traffic by
changing posted speed.
