SATELLINE ® -3AS(d) Epic
SATELLINE-3AS Epic includes a high power 10 watt transmitter
and two receivers. The powerful transmitter gives
you better coverage and a potential 10 to 90 kilometer
distance between stations. The modem automatically
chooses the best signal from two independent receivers
for greater signal reception. Compared to the regular
SATELLINE-3AS radio modems, the Epic offers greater
range and signal reliability; it more than doubles the distances
between modems.

get to the receiver at different times. The signals at the receiving
antenna come in different phases, so even in the
worst case, two “opposite but equal” signals cancel each

reflections, the reliability of the receiving signal depends
on the position of the receiving antenna, even when it’s
close to the base station. By setting the two antennas of
the diversity receiver at least ¾ x wavelength apart from
each other, the message can always be received by one
of the receivers, if not both. This way they are rarely at the
same time at the fading dips.
