5 hot
places to visit in Oman
If you want a taste of the Middle East but don’t fancy Dubai’s seven-star luxury,
then Oman is the perfect spot. Just make sure you dress for the occasion with
Hugo Boss’s latest men’s collection
1Muscat
The capital of Oman is a sleepy spot spread out in a thin strip
between Martian-esque mountains and the flat, blue sea.
Perhaps the most intriguing part of town is Muttrah, the old
port that houses Muttrah fort, which, while rarely open to the
public, was built in the 1600s by the Portuguese and is hewn
into the surrounding rock, making for some grand photo
opportunities. It’s worth the steep climb for sweeping views of
the corniche. It’s also here that you’ll find Bait al Baranda (00968
24 714 262), which offers the best history of Muscat to be found
in the country. Other musts include the Sultan Qaboos Grand
Mosque, one of the largest in the world and open to non-
Muslims (women should cover up), and
the pungent lunacy of the Fish Souk.
What to wear: Boss Green trainers
and Boss Orange tote
