2.1 The Election Schedule 1 Date of Notification 23 rd August, 2012 2 Issue of nomination papers 23 – 31 Aug., 2012 3 Last date of receipt of nomination papers (at the 31 st Aug., 2012 office of RO) 4 Date & time of scrutiny of nomination papers Sept. 3, 2012 at 12 noon 5 Date & time of withdrawal of nomination papers Sept. 4, 2012, 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. 6 Date & time of publication of list of contesting Sept. 6, 2012 at 2.00 p.m. candidates (to be uploaded to university website) 7 Date & time of poll Sept. 12, 2012, 12 noon to 1.30 p.m. 8 Date & time of counting of votes (at the office of RO) Sept. 13, 2012, 12 noon onwards 9 Date & time of publication of results After counting is over on Sept. 13, 2012 * Office of the Returning Officer is temporarily arranged in the office of Director, CDC, Assam University, Silchar. 2.2 In case of single college constituencies (No. 6 & 7), the undersigned requests the Principals of concerned colleges to conduct the Election as the Asstt. Returning Officer, following the above schedule. They are also requested to send the Election Results in the form of mail attachments to both the offices of Director, CDC, AUS & the Returning Officer at bdevsdev@sify.com & debasishbhattacharya.aus@gmail.com respectively by 13 th September, 2012. 2.3. For rest of the constituencies (No. 1-5) Election will be directly conducted from the office of R.O. 2.4 Specimen Nomination Form is available in Assam University website. Forms can be downloaded from website. Duly filled Nomination Forms of candidates for Constituency No. 1 to 5 are to be submitted to the office of the undersigned by post or through messenger. In no case, Nomination papers will be received after the stipulated period. Candidates may also send the signed and scanned Nomination Papers as advance copy in the form of mail attachment to the R.O. at debasishbhattacharya.aus@gmail.com. Nomination Forms will be available in the university website up to 2:00 p.m. on 31 st August, 2012.
2.5 Only those teachers, whose names are enlisted in the final Electoral Roll are eligible to contest, propose, second or exercise voting. 2.6 For any query/ clarification all are requested to contact Director, CDC, AUS (9435724529) or the Returning Officer (9435522841).
