MEMORY ALL CLEAR
CAUTION: The procedures described in this area are security sensitive. Clearing all or parts of the ER-650 memory may cause damage
or loss to the program. Do not share this information with unauthorized users and distribute the special SERVICE-Mode key only to those
you may want to perform these functions.
if you wish to clear only parts of ER-650 memory. Complete clearing of all memory areas and installation of the default program can be
done through the following special procedure:
Turn the power switch located on the right side of the register to the OFF position.
Turn the control lock to the SM position one position clockwise from the PGM
position.
Press and hold the key position where the CHEQ key is located on the default
keyboard layout.
While continuing to hold the CHEQ key while turning the power switch to the ON
position. The message: "RAM ALL CLEAR SERV." displays on the screen.
Press the upper left key of the keyboard, then the lower left key, then the upper
right key, and finally press the lower right key.

The display will monitor the memory clear process, which takes about 1 minute.
When complete, the printer will print the message: "RAM ALL CLEAR OK !". The
SERVICE MODE will display.
