Or perhaps it’s more useful to begin by speaking of
individuals. To cite the exemplar, Rasputin was reportedly
poisoned, shot in the head, shot a further three times, bludgeoned
and then thrown into a frozen river – only after being
castrated, of course. When his body washed ashore, an autopsy
showed the cause of death to be hypothermia; however, some
now doubt the credibility of this account. Another account
said that he was poisoned, shot, and stabbed, at which point
he promptly got up and ran off – and was later found to have
drowned in that same frozen river.
Or you could ask, How did we get on to this?
Or Marcus Garvey, who died as a result of a double
stroke after reading a negative premature obituary of himself.
Or sadder still, Basil Brown, a 48-year-old health food advocate
from Croydon, who drank himself to death with carrot
juice...
Or there’s Robert Williams, that worker at some Ford
plant, who was the first known human to be killed by a robot.
The first of many.
Or you might ask, Is the brain like a big phone system
(because it has a lot of connections), or is it one big computer
with ON or OFF states (like the zeros and ones in a computer)?
Neither of the above correct.
