This will be presented in halves. Though this only understood
after the fact.
Both halves are from you, if you like.
Not halves: more accurately we would say, ‘hemispheres’.
The hemispheres of a blasted second or third moon,
orbiting a bloated planet.
The halved brain, clamouring at the door.
Or squatting in the dark in the loft, forgotten. A cool
phlegm congealing amid the dust.
Or on the black back lawn at night, in the drizzle, forgotten.
You no longer forget, you imagine.
–The worst kind of forgetting, to only imagine.
