petrecere, organizată de Fundaţie, pe 6 decembrie, Ziua
Internaţională a Voluntariatului. De asemenea, Fundaţia
organizează numeroase evenimente de Crăciun pentru tinerii,
copiii și vârstnicii din programele sale, pentru ca nimeni să nu
fie singur de Sărbători și nimeni să nu fie ocolit de Crăciun.
Buștenii ce troznesc în șemineu mă trezesc din reverie.
Poveștile Principesei au darul de a te fura și de a te purta în
timp și către locuri îndepărtate. Ochii verzi și limpezi,
zâmbetul direct și tineresc te cuceresc. Aluneci cu ușurinţă în
vraja pe care o ţese personalitatea sa. Ceaiul e gata, seara se
coboară repede asupra Palatului, iar timpul vizitei mele s-a
scurs. Îmi iau la revedere și pornesc în traseul care m-a adus
în intimitatea apartamentelor private. Pe aleea străjuită de
copaci, mă reîntorc la forfota orașului, cu poveștile Principesei
Margareta în minte. Zâmbesc. Acum cunosc ceva din farmecul
care înconjoară Casa Regală.
Foundation on December 6, the World Day of Volunteering. The
Foundation also holds numerous Christmas events for youth,
children and elderly people in its programs, so that nobody feels
alone for Christmas.
The crackling noise of logs in the fireplace wakes me from
my dream. The Princess’s stories are able to steal you away
and carry you across time and space, to distant realms. Her
green, clear eyes and her youthful and discreet smile
conquer you right away. You easily let yourself be drawn in
by the spell of her personality. The tea is ready and the
evening descends quickly over the Palace and my visit is
up. I say good-bye and walk back on the path that took me
to the intimacy of the private suites. Through the alley
flanked by trees, I head back to the city’s hustle, with
Princess Margareta’s stories in mind. I smile. Now I know a
bit of the charm that surrounds the Royal House.

The Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation is a nongovernmental,
apolitical and nonprofit organization. It
was founded in 1990 by Her Royal Highness Princess
Margareta of Romania with the support of her father, His
Majesty King Mihai. The Foundation develops and supports
programs that stimulate solidarity between generations to
improve living standards for children, youth and elderly people,
it encourages education and artistic talent.

‘GENERATIONS’ COMMUNITY CENTER, BUCHAREST
Inter-generations day center that offers socializing activities
to people of all ages (creative workshops, dancing, sports,
trips), after-school for children, soup kitchen, hairdresser’s
for the elderly, scholarships / payment of studies for young
people in orphanages.
‘HERCULES’ COMMUNITY CENTER, COSTEȘTI
Day center, the only one in Costești; it offers after-school to
55 children, soup kitchen, socializing activities for the
elderly, recreational activities for children, material support
for disadvantaged people.
VOLUNTEERS – AMBASSADORS OF CHANGE
Volunteering and inter-generations solidarity project. Young
volunteers spend a few hours a week with aged people
who are immobilized at home or isolated in elderly care
