There is an old what is called 'barrack saying' : There are no good or bad regiments but
Colonels. If the man in command is good, the regiment will be good. If he is bad, the regiment
will be bad. This is also true of police or any other paramilitary force for that matter. The CBI is

Contextually, CBI has been very
lucky in having, from the very beginning,
its shapers and movers. Chosen through
rigorous processes and procedures on the
basis of their rich experiences and
extraordinary capabilities and calibre to
handle their job, they have really made
CBI what it is – a most credible
Investigating Agency on the faith - radar
of the Nation. Whenever and wherever
anything goes terribly wrong, and
corruption, and crime, fraud and feint,
bare their sharp fangs in the Government,
in the bazaar, in the society throughout
the country, one invariably hears one
demand in many voices – 'Bring in CBI'.
And CBI comes in. And despite rough
