WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST<br />

JASON HANSEN (Music Director) has<br />

worked regularly in theatres across the Twin<br />

Cities and is excited to be making his debut with<br />

Theater Latté Da. He has held positions of music<br />

director, composer, and performer at The<br />

Children’s <strong>Theatre</strong> Company (TAT Program),<br />

Mixed Blood (Next To Normal, Avenue Q),<br />

Guthrie Theater (BFA Program), Open Eye<br />

Figure <strong>Theatre</strong>, and Eagan Community <strong>Theatre</strong>.<br />

Jason is the music director for the Twin Citiesbased<br />

rockin’ senior choir Alive and Kickin’ and<br />

will direct two showcases of their work this<br />

spring at Bloomington Civic <strong>Theatre</strong> and Old<br />

Arizona. He is also heavily involved in the Twin<br />

Cities community, directing and arranging<br />

music for various bands and choirs. As a<br />

composer, Jason is involved in the songwriting<br />

collaborative Prosody.<br />

MICHAEL MATTHEW FERRELL<br />

(Choreographer) is the 2007 Ivey Award<br />

recipient for choreography and was named Best<br />

Choreographer of 2010 by Lavender Magazine<br />

for Theater Latté Da’s production of Evita. Other<br />

Theater Latté Da credits include choreography<br />

for Parade, Gypsy, The Rink, Passage of Dreams,<br />

The Full Monty, Evita, …Spelling Bee and<br />

Company and assistant director for Spring<br />

Awakening. Other works include Ragtime at Park<br />

Square <strong>Theatre</strong>; Wizard of Oz, Annie, Tommy,<br />

…Spelling Bee, Disney’s High School Musical, A<br />

Year With Frog and Toad, and Fashion 47 at The<br />

Children’s <strong>Theatre</strong> Company; Cats, Annie, The<br />

Sound of Music, Camelot, The Music Man, My<br />

Fair Lady, Oklahoma!, Can-Can, Forever Plaid,<br />

and Good News! at the Chanhassen Dinner<br />

<strong>Theatre</strong>s; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,<br />

Grand Night for Singing, and Broadway’s<br />

Legendary Ladies at the Ordway Center; and<br />

42nd Street and Oklahoma! at Bloomington<br />

Civic <strong>Theatre</strong>. Michael is also the Founder and<br />

Director of the Twin Cities newest musical<br />

ensemble Alive & Kickin’.<br />

JOEL SASS (Set Designer) is an award-wining<br />

director/designer making his Theater Latté Da<br />

debut in Aida. Joel’s work has been seen at the<br />

Guthrie Theater, the Jungle Theater, The<br />

Children’s <strong>Theatre</strong> Company, Park Square,<br />

History <strong>Theatre</strong>, Mixed Blood, the Arizona<br />

<strong>Theatre</strong> Company, California Shakespeare<br />

Theater, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival,<br />

among others. For eight years he was Artistic<br />

Director of the award-winning Mary Worth<br />

Theater Company (1994-2003). He is the<br />

recipient of the Alan Schneider Award for<br />

directing, a McKnight Theater Artist<br />

Fellowship, and IVEY Awards for his Jungle<br />

productions The Last of the Boys and Mary’s<br />

Wedding. Later this winter he will direct Venus<br />

in Fur for the Jungle Theater.<br />

TULLE & DYE (Costume Designer) are<br />

designing for the first time with Theater Latté<br />

Da. They have designed or produced costumes<br />

for Beauty and the Beast, Grey Gardens, Yankee<br />

Doodle, Singin’ in the Rain, Rocky Horror<br />

Picture Show, Blues in the Night, Cinderella,<br />

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat<br />

and others at the Ordway. They have also worked<br />

on the production of Mulan, Jr., at The<br />

Children’s <strong>Theatre</strong> Company; Guys and Dolls,<br />

Seattle’s 5 th Avenue Theater; Amen Corner,<br />

Guthrie Theater, Pagliacci, Mill City Opera.<br />

Dance companies they’ve designed for include<br />

Alvin Ailey, Sewell Ballet, Minnesota Dance<br />

<strong>Theatre</strong>, Zenon Dance, St. Paul City Ballet,<br />

Minnesota Ballet, Ballet of the Dolls. Corporate<br />

works include Target, Macy’s, Dayton’s, BI<br />

World Wide and Larson Communications.<br />

MARCUS DILLIARD (Lighting Designer)<br />

designed the lighting for Theater Latté Da’s<br />

productions of Song of Extinction, Violet, The<br />

Full Monty, All Is Calm, Old Wicked Songs and<br />

Susannah. He has designed for theater and opera<br />

across North America and in Europe, including<br />

numerous productions for the Guthrie Theater,<br />

<strong>Theatre</strong> de la Jeune Lune, The Minnesota Opera<br />

and the Minnesota Orchestra. He has also<br />

designed lighting for productions at The<br />

Children’s <strong>Theatre</strong> Company, Ordway, American<br />

Repertory Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, The<br />

Athens Festival, Portland Opera, San Diego<br />

Opera, the Spoleto Festival (Italy), Flanders<br />

Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Opera<br />

de Montreal, Canadian Opera Company,<br />

Chicago Opera Theater, and Boston Lyric Opera.<br />

Marcus is a member of United Scenic Artists<br />

Local 829 and is the Head of the Design Program<br />

in the Department of <strong>Theatre</strong> Arts and Dance at<br />

the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.<br />

SEAN HEALEY (Sound Designer) is the<br />

Resident Sound Designer for the Jungle Theater<br />

and Open Eye Figure <strong>Theatre</strong>. Sean’s other<br />

recent credits include The 500 Hats of
