VISION STATEMENT<br />

To be the Best <strong>Cricket</strong> <strong>Club</strong> in New Zealand.<br />

MISSION STATEMENT<br />

We aim to be New Zealand's pre-eminent cricket club, meeting the needs of cricketers in the community in which we live,<br />

providing sporting excellence, personal development and fun.<br />

HPCC'S PRIMARY ROLE IS TO BEST:<br />

• service and provide for the grass roots cricket in our locality.<br />

• identify talented players within the club and develop their skills<br />

• ensure the club's playing facilities are of a suitable quality to attract participants<br />

• manage the business of our club responsibly<br />

• fulfil regional responsibilities to Auckland <strong>Cricket</strong> and support the ACA's regional and national objectives.<br />

• coordinate a structured and innovative social programme to cater for the entire community.<br />

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES<br />

Key Area 1: Participation – Growing and sustaining the game in our area<br />

Objective: To grow the participant base of the game throughout the greater <strong>Howick</strong>, <strong>Pakuranga</strong>, Flat Bush and<br />

Dannemora areas through an integrated development programme targeting the schools and the general community.<br />

Key Area 2: <strong>Cricket</strong> for All – Provide a level of cricket appropriate for all levels<br />

Objective: To provide an environment where elite cricketers are encouraged with the focus on excellence and personal<br />

development to produce championship teams, without losing the focus on the needs of the social membership.<br />

Key Area 3: Facilities: Providing the best facilities for players, volunteers and paid staff.<br />

Objective: To provide a good work environment for all paid employees and volunteers. To improve the quantity and<br />

quality of the clubs current playing and practice facilities through out the district<br />

Key Area 4: <strong>Cricket</strong> Operations – Setting the management standard as the best run <strong>Club</strong> within the Auckland <strong>Cricket</strong><br />

Association.<br />

Objective: To set the highest standards of management through the adopting and sharing best business practices in the<br />

area of governance, management, operations, finance and communications.<br />

Key Area 5: Leadership and Innovation – To embrace the changing society and develop strategies to grow the game<br />

within in our District.<br />

Objective: To develop strategies to strengthen our membership within our District to ensure <strong>Cricket</strong> is the leading<br />

summer sport through strong leadership and innovative solutions to meet the challenges that face cricket as a sport.<br />
