Following Up the Status of Claims<br />

“How can we know the status of our claim?”, asks Aling Daisy.<br />

Orly replies,“The depositor or his duly designated representative<br />

may follow up a deposit insurance claim either by telephone, e-mail or<br />

in person. The PDIC Public Assistance Hotlines are (632) 841-4630 and<br />

(632) 841-4631. Depositors outside Metro Manila may follow up their<br />

claims toll free at 1-800-1-888-7342 or 1-800-1-888-PDIC. The Public<br />

Assistance Department’s e-mail address is pad@<strong>pdic</strong>.gov.ph. Status of<br />

claims may also be followed up via mail at the:<br />

Depositors may also visit the Public Assistance Helpdesk located<br />

Orly adds, “Inquiries in person may also be made at the premises of<br />

the closed bank, or at the designated site during the Claims Settlement<br />

Operations period. In following up a deposit insurance claim, the depositor<br />

needs to have the following information ready for easy reference:<br />

• name of the closed bank;<br />

• name of the depositor, and<br />

• claim number and/or account number.”<br />
