for keeping money that you will need in a short while, what then are

Aling Lorna, who had just been watching with adoring eyes
how the three loves of her life were interacting, butts in with, “Good
question, Tessie.” She continues, “Checking accounts are ideal for
people and institutions that need to make transactions using big
amounts of money. A properly issued check does away with the need
to bring hoards of cash that may just attract robbers.”
