It was in 1875, in the city of Koblenz, when 

Carl Spaeter laid the foundation for a story of

Until today the strong entrepreneurial personality 

of Carl Spaeter is being transmitted into 

the companies of the CARL SPAETER Group. His

More than 1.3 billion tonnes of steel are being produced 

each year. The ability to manufacture more 

than 2.000 different kinds has put Germany in 6th 

place of all steel producing countries worldwide. 

Steel is an elementary material, which has accompanied 

and influenced the history of mankind. 

However, only since the industrial revolution

some 150 years ago, steel production gained significance: 

The invention of the steam engine 

for the first time offered a strong working force 

power, the coal mines supplying the coke, essential 

for the steel smelting. At last the extension 

of infrastructure enabled the development and 

enlargement of steel consuming markets. 

The distribution of steel has always been our business: 

Some 75% of our turnover results from commerce 

in steel and stainless steel products. Besides 

this, Aluminium semi finished materials have 

been gaining influence and we also keep other 

non-ferrous metals and plastics in our product 

range. 

Traditionally we keep close relationship to steel 

consuming branches like the automotive and 

tooling industry. Also in structural architecture 

this versatile material is highly valued, which 

provides good processing characteristics, wear 

resistance and stability. Steel remains under permanent 

further development in order to achieve 

the increasing requirements of the markets. We 

are well prepared for the worldwide continuously 

growing demand for steel products by keeping 

well assorted warehouses all over Germany, in 

line with innovative processing lines as well as 

modern and most efficient logistics.

invested in the extension of updated technology 

for storage and commissioning. As the administration 

of our stocks is decentralized, we

and can fulfil customers‘ requests for special 

materials fast and flexible. More than 30.000 different 

items are stored in stock all over Germany.

Through our subsidiaries and sales offices in Germany 

we can provide customers with the requested 

materials in short term in most cases and in

We can prepare the material for further applications

equipment. Due to the cooperation between

Decades of experience and innovative technology 

go hand in hand in our companies. We 

run state-of-the-art computerized machinery 

for the processing of steel, stainless steel, aluminium 

and plastics, controlling almost all 

common procedures as sawing, flame-cutting 

and thread cutting, blasting and priming, 

bending, slitting and cutting-to-length. Not 

to forget welding, grinding, brushing, coating 

and polishing. Hot-dip-galvanizing, stamping 

and drilling are also available. All in tested 

quality. Necessary certificates and approvals 

will be provided in cooperation with independent 

test laboratories.

material at our warehouses - from aluminium 

roofing parts to structural steel elements 

weighing tonnes. Reliable and flexible, fast
