Arrangements for
maintenance and repair
in the period of material
deficiency liability
A customer service contract has been concluded between the manufacturers
TEMSA and MAN. Among other things, this contract lays down the following
important provisions for service workshops and customers:
Limits of material deficiency
liability
The following limits for material deficiency liability will apply to all MAN parts:
Maximum 24 months or 200,000 km from the first licensing of the vehicle,
but
Maximum 36 months after delivery from works (by MAN)
In the event that, in individual cases, you are unable to order parts, whether
these belong to the TEMSA or MAN scope of supply, please contact the VASL-
11 Special and Military Vehicle Team responsible (E-mail address, fax and
telephone number can be found in the current version of the 500SM).
Preconditions for the provision
of material deficiency
liability
All maintenance work on MAN parts must be carried out within the stipulated
time period in accordance with MAN specifications.
Maintenance work and repairs on MAN parts must, in principle, be carried out
by MAN service workshops, making use of original MAN parts.
As an option, maintenance work can also be carried out by TEMSA workshops
which have been authorised beforehand by the individual MAN national organisation.
Authorisation is only possible if a comparable workshop standard
exists with regard to equipment, as well as special tools and the training of
personnel. The use of MAN original parts and approved operational materials
is a precondition for the later recognition of an instance of material deficiency
liability.
This arrangement also applies by analogy reciprocally to maintenance work on
TEMSA parts by MAN service workshops.
This SB replaces 967SMa of 13.12.2006
Repairs within the framework
of material deficiency
liability/exceptional arrangement
Repairs within the framework of material deficiency liability on MAN parts may
only be carried out by MAN service workshops. The costs are to be settled with
MAN by the usual processing channels.
In the countries of Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, and Turkey, work
within the framework of material deficiency liability on MAN parts can also be
carried out by TEMSA workshops.
In these cases too, a precondition for the provision of material deficiency liability
is the existence of a workshop up to the usual MAN standard with regard to
equipment, special tools, and training of personnel, as well as the use of MAN
original parts. The settlement and processing of repair costs will be dealt with
via the manufacturer TEMSA in Turkey and MAN Turkey.
Guarantee procedure
In the event of damage to MAN parts which falls under material deficiency liability,
and if all the conditions indicated in this Service Bulletin are fulfilled, the
usual guarantee procedure within the MAN organisation will apply.
In the MAN data processing systems, all TEMSA buses and coaches with MAN
parts will be carried with the full 17-digit Vehicle ID Number and the information
regarding the construction status.
TEMSA guarantee undertakings
In the event that, in individual cases or regionally, guarantee obligations apply
to TEMSA which go beyond the general MAN Sales and Supply Conditions,
the guarantee procedure must be dealt with by TEMSA.
Yours faithfully
