LEAFLET
A Natural Approach for a Runny Nose
According to the World Allergy Organization (WAO):
In the last 20-30 years, the prevalence of allergies has increased significantly—a
trend that shows no signs of abating. It is estimated that 400
million people worldwide experience allergic reactions and 300 million
people worldwide have asthma.
Allergies are a major problem in the 21st Century. This is predicted
to worsen as this century moves forward.
Due to a changing world climate, higher standards of hygiene
and rapid industrialization of developing nations, allergies are
becoming more prevalent, more complex and more aggressive,
with patients frequently suffering multiple allergic disorders
that are no longer confined to specific seasons or locations
and may be caused by a multitude of natural and synthetic
substances not in our environment 20 years ago.
Most over-the-counter products that address the symptoms of allergies,
runny noses for example, typically contain the generic ingredient
loratadine, the generic name for Ethyl 4-(8-chloro-5,6-dihydro-11Hbenzo[5,6]cyclohepta[1,2-b]pyridin-11-ylidine)-1-iperidinecarboxylateratadine),
sold under assorted brand names.
As consumers have become more health conscious and more concerned
about the chemicals they introduce into their bodies, many have sought
out botanical and more natural means to maintain their health. But,
until recently, there have been relatively few controlled clinical trials to
support the use of botanicals to maintain health including nasal health.
In a recent trial published in Nutrition Journal, July 14, 2008, however,
three botanicals—Spanish needles, cinnamon, and acerola—were shown
to be safe and effective at supporting clear nasal passages.

World Class Athletes
Trust NUTRILITE
Supplements
Today’s elite athletes are tested for banned substances
more today than at any other time. Medical
technology has progressed to where it is possible to
test for more banned substances than ever before.
An athlete’s livelihood and reputation is built upon
performance and character. It is important that
athletes use supplements that are effective to help
them train harder, recover quicker, and perform
better. World class athletes—Ronaldinho, 2 time
FIFA player of the year; Asafa Powell, multiple
world record holder 100m; Sanya Richards,
American Record holder; and Liu Xiang, Multiple
Record holder 110m hurdles—all count on
NUTRILITE supplements as part of their training
regimen. They feel the impact on their performance,
and they know that all NUTRILITE
supplements are formulated to adhere to World
Anti-doping Agency (WADA) standards.

Project Sozo
Location: Buena Park, CA
As a part of the One by One Campaign for
Children, Amway and Nutrilite have partnered
with the Boys and Girls Club of Buena
Park through Project Sozo to provide safe
and wholesome recreational activities for
children, regardless of their economic status.
Project Sozo was initiated when Dr. Sam
Rehnborg of Nutrilite challenged Sean Foy,
a fitness consultant to the company, to design
a wellness and weight-control program
that could become a low-cost blueprint for
schools and youth centers across Orange
County—and maybe even the nation. Beginning
with the Boys and Girls Club of Buena
Park, the program has now been implemented
in 16 youth centers in Orange County,
enrolling 450 children per eight-week session.
“Optimal Health”
The Bigger Picture
Usually when we use the words “optimal
health,” we are referring to the health of
our customers, which is our paramount
concern. And Nutrilite is committed to
supplying our customers with the safest,
most effective supplements available. But
the “optimal health” picture is bigger
than just that.
The Health of Our Supplements
By beginning with materials grown
on farms that practice organic farming
methods, and adhering to stringent
GMPs in our manufacturing facilities,
we ensure the health of our supplements
from seed to finished serving.
The Health of Our Farming Community
We also have a commitment to the workers
on our farms in North and South
America, where we support the farming
communities through food, health, education,
sports and recreation programs.
The Health of Our Environment
All NUTRILITE products are delivered
in recyclable packaging to protect the
health of the environment, too.
