GROUP EXERCISE<br />

Session Dates:<br />

Summer I: June 1-July 12<br />

Summer II: July 13-August 23<br />

(Ages 16+) Ages 11-15 may participate w/<br />

parent. Visit www.indymca.org for a current<br />

schedule, or pick one up in person<br />

at the Member Services Desk. Classes are<br />

taught by competent and certified instructors.<br />

| PM Group Exercise Participant Pass<br />

Advanced Step: A faster-paced step class<br />

that is more mentally and physically<br />

challenging. Step experience is required.<br />

Cardio Hip Hop: Enjoy learning fun,<br />

high-energy dance combinations while<br />

getting a great workout!<br />

Express Fit: (Ages 11+) A full-body<br />

circuit that utilizes intervals of cardio<br />

and strength but fits it all into a short,<br />

efficient workout.<br />

Group Cycling: This exercise class uses<br />

major muscle groups (i.e. the legs!) and<br />

raises the heart rate to an extent that<br />

benefits health. Cycling is a good form<br />

of exercise for those with certain joint<br />

problems because much less pressure is<br />

exerted on the joints while cycling.<br />

Intermediate Step: Step beyond<br />

the basics in this class and enjoy<br />

more challenging step routines. Step<br />

experience is not required but helpful.<br />

Interval Training: This demanding class is<br />

for those who want variety in their workout.<br />

This class offers aerobic and muscle<br />

conditioning which may include intervals,<br />

step, bosu, kickboxing, weights and resistance<br />

bands. Expect anything in this total<br />

body workout.<br />

Strength and Endurance: Increase your<br />

lean muscle tissue and metabolism<br />

with this total body workout! This nonaerobic<br />

class incorporates a variety of<br />

resistance equipment to strengthen,<br />

define and tone all major muscle groups.<br />

Group Exercise Participant Pass:<br />

Participants can purchase a Group Exercise<br />

Participant Pass, which is a punch card<br />

for 8 separate visits to specified water<br />

and land group exercise classes. For land<br />

group exercise, pass can be used for all<br />

regularly scheduled aerobics classes. (Pass<br />

is not valid for Yoga, Pilates and Group<br />

Cycling.) For water group exercise, pass can<br />

be used for all regularly scheduled Water<br />

Exercise classes and Arthritis classes. (Pass<br />

is not valid for Prenatal classes.) The Group<br />

Exercise Participant Pass can be purchased<br />

at the Member Services Desk.<br />

Teen/Adult $50 for 8-class punch card;<br />

Senior $45 for 8-class punch card.<br />

Mind/Body Pass: This pass allows you to<br />

take an unlimited number of Pilates and/<br />

or Yoga classes per session! For a current<br />

schedule that details all these Mind-Body<br />

options, visit www.indymca.org or pick<br />

one up at the <strong>YMCA</strong>.<br />

Senior Exercise: (Ages 55+) Low-impact<br />

aerobic, flexibility and strengthening<br />

class. Located at Second Presbyterian<br />

Church/Jordan <strong>YMCA</strong>.<br />

Mon/Wed/Fri, 9:45-10:45am<br />

strength and toning exercise, along with<br />

stretching. You will work on balance,<br />

with core work being a major part of the<br />

workout. This class offers strength and<br />

Basic Training: (Ages 16+) Your instructor<br />

will lead the group through a workout<br />

that is challenging and fun for all. Program<br />

meets three times a week for 6 weeks.<br />

Both classes are open to men and women.<br />

A doctor’s clearance may be required.<br />
