Family Fun Triathlon Event: In addition<br />
to the Jordan <strong>YMCA</strong> Youth Triathlon,<br />
there will be a non-sanctioned Family<br />
Fun Triathlon Event for children ages 4-6<br />
and their parents. Every child will swim<br />
50 meters, bike 1000 meters and run<br />
400 meters with at least one guardian<br />
participating with them. This fun event<br />
will not be timed and a results list<br />
will not be created. No USA Triathlon<br />
membership is required.<br />
Day: Monday<br />
Date: September 7<br />
Time: After the Youth Triathlon is<br />
completed.<br />
Ages: 4-6 by December 31, 2009<br />
Cost: $5 per person<br />

Youth Triathlon Training Class: If you have<br />
a budding triathlete in the house, the<br />
Jordan <strong>YMCA</strong> will be offering a triathlon<br />
training class for children ages 7-14. The<br />
summer will be broken into 3 sessions<br />
with 6 practice opportunities per session.<br />
Children will work on all necessary skills<br />
to participate in a triathlon.<br />
The curriculum will cover safety,<br />
technique, fitness development and<br />
race planning. Each session will basically<br />
cover the same curriculum with built in<br />
flexibility to accommodate those who<br />
attend more than one session.<br />
The program will be focused on preparing<br />
participants for youth triathlon races<br />
scheduled for July 4, Aug 23 and Sep 7.<br />
In order to register for the training class<br />
participants should be able to swim 50<br />
meters unassisted and bike without training<br />
wheels. Helmets required, will need to<br />
bring own bike to practice occasionally.<br />
Days: Ages 7-10, Tuesday and<br />
every other Saturday<br />
Session 1: June 2, 9, 13, 16, 23, 27<br />
Session 2: July 7, 11, 14, 21, 25, 28<br />
Session 3: Aug 4, 8, 11, 18, 22, 25<br />
Days: Ages 11-14, Thursday and<br />
every other Saturday<br />
Session 1: June 4, 11, 13, 18, 25, 27<br />

SPLASH:<br />
<strong>YMCA</strong> Splash is an<br />
introduction and<br />
orientation to swimming<br />
and water safety. Our<br />
goal is to educate children<br />
between the ages of 6 and 12 about<br />
the importance of swimming as<br />
a lifetime skill and the four core<br />
values: Caring, Honesty, Respect<br />
and Responsibility. Monday-Friday,<br />
June 1-5. Sign up for one day<br />
or all five! FREE TO ALL!<br />

Deep Water Jogging: A time for you to<br />
chat with your friends while enjoying<br />
a brisk “run” in the pool. No instructor<br />
required for this open deep water time.<br />
