Every NOLS course is approved for college
credit and more than 75% of our collegeage
students take advantage of this option.
For nearly 30 years NOLS has offered credit
through the University of Utah, one of the
nation’s premier research universities. Furthermore,
400 colleges and universities nationwide
have accepted NOLS/University of Utah
credit, and many others grant their own credit
for NOLS courses. We also offer two associate
degrees in partnership with Central Wyoming
College and have many direct credit and articulation
agreements with other colleges and
universities around the globe.
UNIVERSITY OF UTAH UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE CREDIT
• Concepts in Biology: Natural History of Regional Ecosystems
• Natural Resources Learning: Environmental Ethics
• Natural Resources Learning: Leadership Techniques
• Natural Resources Learning: Skills Practicum
• Risk Assessment, Management, and Decision-Making
• Wilderness First Responder
• Expedition Behavior
• Outdoor Education
These courses are offered through the University’s departments of Biology; Health Education;
and Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. Details are available from the NOLS Admission
office. This optional college credit is $65 per credit hour.
ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAMS NOLS and Central Wyoming College (CWC) in Riverton,
Wyoming, have partnered to offer two degree programs:
• Associate of Science in Environmental Science and Leadership: During the NOLS portion
of this degree program, you’ll develop environmental awareness and conservation
ethics. At CWC you’ll complement this with a classic natural science education.
• Associate of Arts in Outdoor Education and Leadership: Designed for students interested in
careers in outdoor education or environmental education and activism, this degree program
combines one or more NOLS courses with education and liberal arts courses at CWC.
