Workshop Teaser<br />
Duration: ~ 5 – 6 hours<br />
General: Optional activity, 10-12 students, two Accenture representatives<br />
Goal of the session: Students have gained insights how <strong>IT</strong> strategy is applied in practice and how a <strong>IT</strong> <strong>Strategy</strong> project looks like within Accenture.<br />
Furthermore the workshop has shown how <strong>IT</strong> innovations have the power to help people in need.<br />
Workshop Context: The CIO of a world leading “<strong>Not</strong>-<strong>for</strong>-<strong>Profit</strong>” organization has asked a team of consultants to come in helping him to evaluate<br />
the use of <strong>Cloud</strong> Computing to improve their current <strong>IT</strong> environment. The organization had recently some challenges to cope with the spiking<br />
demand in case of humanitarian disasters like Haiti or Japan.<br />
Workshop Task: Students are asked to screen relevant documentation that has been given to them by the CIO. The CIO is interested which parts of<br />
his business will harness the most from <strong>Cloud</strong> Computing and how the new technology will not only increase his ability to scale <strong>IT</strong> services fast but<br />
also how it serves the overall mission of the organization.<br />
Agenda:<br />
1. Introduction to Accenture<br />
2. Introduction to the case (client in<strong>for</strong>mation, …)<br />
3. Working on the case in groups of ~5 students with guidance of<br />
the Accenture representatives<br />
4. Presentation and discussion of the groups‘ results<br />
5. Final discussion of Accenture‘s approach to the project<br />
