14 Crocus SHDSL Repeater 2P Chapter 2 User manual Installing and connecting the Crocus SHDSL Repeater 2P Part label DP / LP Function This is the power selection switch. The Crocus SHDSL Repeater 2P can either be powered locally or remotely by the LTU. Use the power selection switch to select between local and dual powering. Switch setting LP (local power) DP (dual power) Function The Crocus SHDSL Repeater 2P is powered by a local power supply only. The Crocus SHDSL Repeater 2P is powered remotely by the LTU. However, you can also connect a local power supply. In that case, if the remote power fails, then the local power takes over. In order to change the switch setting, use a thin plastic tool. Never use a metal object! -48 VDC This is the power connector. If you want to power the Crocus SHDSL Repeater 2P using a local power supply, then connect the -48 Vdc to this connector. Do this by wiring the mini-fit plug delivered with the Crocus SHDSL Repeater 2P and plug it in the mini-fit power connector. Refer to 5.8 - Power connector lay-out on page 54 for more information on this connector. NE / FE xDSL These are the Near End (NE) and Far End (FE) SHDSL line connectors. Connect the … • NE connector to the SHDSL line going to the near end, also called network side or N-side. • FE connector to the SHDSL line going to the far end, also called customer side or C-side.
